Stephen Hough begins Australian tour

Stephen Hough returns to Australia after two years for a tour opening with performances of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.5 on 12 and 13 September with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Nicholas McGegan.
On 14 September Hough gives a recital of works by Debussy and Chopin as part of Brisbane’s Medici Concerts International Piano Series and repeats the programme again on 15 September for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s piano series. Staying in Sydney, he is soloist in Dvořák’s Piano Concerto with the SSO on 17, 19 and 20 September under Hans Graf.
Hough then appears in recital at Monash University’s Robert Blackwood Hall on 23 September, before the tour draws to a close in Perth when he joins the West Australian Symphony Orchestra in concerts on 26 and 27 September conducted by Baldur Brönnimann.
