Sol Gabetta features as Artist in Residence at Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival
7/7/2014
Sol Gabetta undertakes a two-month residency at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
Themed around the Argentinian cellist, the Festival’s programme features Sol in no fewer than eighteen performances across the region from 9 July to 26 August.
She appears in concerts with new HarrisonParrott signing, pianist Bertrand Chamayou, and with violinists Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Baiba Skride.
She also performs as soloist with three highly contrasting ensembles: the Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev, Il Giardino Armonico conducted by Giovanni Antonini and with Ensemble Resonanz.
Sol is reunited with her former teacher Ivan Monighetti and several of her long-time friends for a very special “Cello Night”, and the Festival also gives her the opportunity to show her lighter side when she joins mime artist Fabian Gysling and pianist Ulrike Payer for two children’s concerts.
