Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Susanna Mälkki debut at the Bregenzer Festspiele

Patricia Kopatchinskaja makes her debut appearance at the Bregenzer Festspiele performing Otto Zykan’s Violin Concerto Da drunten im Talewith the Wiener Symphoniker on 31 July. The performance – also featuring works by Beethoven and Brahms – is conducted by Susanna Mälkki, who also makes her debut at the festival.
Next month, Patricia will make several appearances at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, performing Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2 with the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev, as well as recitals with Polina Leschenko, Laurence Dreyfus and Anthony Romaniuk.
Later this summer Susanna will make a return to the Lucerne Festival with a programme that features the world premiere of Olga Neuwirth’s Trurliade — Zone Zero for percussion and orchestra with Martin Grubinger as soloist, as well as works by Schoenberg, Webern and Lachenmann.
