Tenor sensation Pene Pati: New ‘Nessun Dorma’ release
11/11/2024
Samoan tenor Pene Pati has launched his 2024/25 season with the release of his second album (Warner) entitled Nessun Dorma, with Emmanuele Villaume conducting Orchestre national Bordeaux Aquitaine. Showcasing arias by Berlioz, Meyerbeer, Massenet, Donizetti, Gounod and lesser-known duets from Saverio Mercadante and Ernest Guiraud. Joined by his soprano wife Amina Edris and tenor brother Amitai Pati on this already universally acclaimed recording, Pati’s “sunshine-filled voice and elegant phrasing” (Volksblatt) and “shimmering colours” (Le Figaro) bring ever more frequent comparisons to the legendary Luciano Pavarotti.

Already much-loved by the Paris audience, Pati’s return to the stage of Opéra National de Paris for his debut performances as Gounod’s Faust had critics throwing compliments his way, selling out the final performances. Conducted by Emmanuele Villaume and in Tobias Kratzer’s engaging production, his performances were hailed as “radiant” and “luminous” (Bachtrack), praising his “exquisite French diction and resplendent high notes” (Olyrix) as well as his stylish and accomplished characterisation
