Pierre-Laurent Aimard returns to the Amsterdam Muziekgebouw to celebrate the 150^th Anniversary of Arnold Schönberg. Vienna’s pioneer of atonality constitutes the centrepiece of two concerts: on 14 November Aimard joins Michael Wendeberg, Joseph Puglia, Katrien Baertsand and Asko|Schönberg to perform Schönberg’s Chamber Symphony No.1 and Kammerkonzert for Piano, Violin and 13 Wind Instruments; a recital follows on 15 November with a programme including several Schönberg compositions for solo piano alongside works by Scriabin, Schumann, Stravinksy, and Brahms.
