Artistic Curator Jiří Rožeň opens Opera Nova Festival in Prague

June is a busy month for renowned Czech conductor, Jiří Rožeň who opens Opera Nova Festival with the Czech premiere of Ligeti’s Le Grand Macabre on 14, 16, 22 and 27 June at National Theatre (Prague). As artistic curator of the Festival, which is a showcase of contemporary Czech and international opera creations, Rožeň also conducts the world premiere of Kafka’s Letter To His Father by Jiří Trtík on 15 and 20 June at Prague State Opera.
During the festival, Stephanie Childress conducts the world premiere of Ogres by Šimon Voseček on 17 June at Divadlo Bez zábradlí, while chamber opera The Yellow Wallpaper, receives its Czech premiere on 18 June at Divadlo ABC, composed by Birdsong’s Dani Howard.
