Osmo Vänskä returns to Australia

Osmo Vänskä returns to Australia for engagements with Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
Sydney Symphony Orchestra hosts three concerts on 24, 26, and 27 April at the Sydney Opera House. Vänskä presents a complete Sibelius programme, joined by Finnish soprano Helena Juntunen. The programme includes pieces such as Pohjola’s Daughter, Höstkväll (Autumn Evening), Hertig Magnus (Baron Magnus), Våren flyktar hastigt (Spring is Flying), The Bard, Luonnotar (Kalevala), and Lemminkäinen Suite (Four Legends from the Kalevala).
Following the performances in Sydney, Vänskä travels to the west to conduct Adelaide Symphony Orchestra on 3 and 4 May at Adelaide Town Hall. The programme features Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Piano Concerto No.1 with HP pianist Behzod Abduraimov, and Sibelius’ Lemminkäinen Suite (Four Legends from the Kalevala).
