John Daszak and Daniel Schmutzhard debut the roles of Abel and Kajin respectively in Rudi Stephan’s Die ersten Menschen at Teatro Arriaga, Bilbao on 18 April. Staged by Calixto Bieito with Basque National Orchestra conducted by Robert Treviño, there is also a further performance of this psychological rarity on 20 April.

Next up for Daszak are concert performances of Salome with Houston Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Juraj Valčuha in June.

Schmutzhard returns to Gunther in Götterdämmerung at Opernhaus Zürich under Gianandrea Noseda, followed by Frank and Fritz in Die tote Stadt at Staatsoper Hamburg under Yoel Gamzou in June.
