Bertrand Chamayou: London Symphony Orchestra Artist Portrait
11/3/2024
Pianist Bertrand Chamayou takes centre stage as the focus of this year’s London Symphony Orchestra Artist Portrait. He joins the Orchestra for two contrasting piano concertos, and curates four chamber music recitals at LSO St Luke’s.
Bertrand Chamayou dives deep into Unsuk Chin’s oeuvre as part of the Artist Portrait series, which includes chamber music at LSO St Luke’s and a concert where he performs Chin’s Piano Concerto with London Symphony Orchestra under François-Xavier Roth at the Barbican on 14 March.
Bertrand Chamayou also performs Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major with London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Antoni Pappano in concerts in London (18 April), Aarhus (28 April) and Brighton (3 May).
Like Ravel, Bertrand Chamayou once studied at the Paris Conservatoire. His fresh, assertive interpretation of the Piano Concerto makes it sound newly written.
The concerts are recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and for future broadcast on Marquee TV.
