Nicolas Altstaedt returns to Munich Chamber Orchestra this week to give the world premiere of Hungarian composer Márton Illés’ new cello concerto. Conducted by Bas Wiegers, the performance of the work – co-commissioned by MCO and Essen Philharmonie, and sponsored by the Ernst von Siemens Foundation – takes place at the Prinzregententheater in Munich on 14 December. Dutilleux’s Mystère de l’instant and Haydn’s Symphony No.104 (London) complete the programme.
