30/11/2023
Aurel Dawidiuk, one of HarrisonParrott’s newest additions to our roster, has been awarded the ninth annual Ernst Von Schuch Prize for conducting by the von Schuch Family Foundation in conjunction with the Deutscher Musikrat. The award ceremony was held on 24 November at the Landhaus Dresden, just around the corner from the Dresdner Kulturpalast where Dawidiuk performed two days later on 26 November as a special guest on both organ and piano alongside member of the Kurt Masur Academy.
The latest in a series of recent accolades for Dawidiuk that has included the 2023 Neeme Järvi Prize at the Gstaad Menhuin Festival and First Prize at the 2023 International Hans von Bülow Meiningen Competition, the Ernst von Schuch award coincides with the release of Dawidiuk’s début album release B‑A‑C‑H“Hommage à …” in collaboration with the German radio broadcaster Deutschlandfunk Kultur, the Deutscher Musikrat, and GENUIN label. In it, he explores the thematic motif of B‑A‑C‑H through a series of major organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Krebs, Franz Liszt, Zsigmond Szathmáry, and Max Reger spanning three centuries. The album is currently available from Genuin as well as all major streaming platforms.
