SINFONIETTA CRACOVIA CELEBRATES PENDERECKI’S 90TH BIRTHDAY WITH A SPANISH AND Portuguese TOUR

Sinfonietta Cracovia is celebrating the 90th birthday of the late Krzysztof Penderecki, one of the most eminent composers of contemporary music. The Orchestra of the Capital Royal City of Krakow Sinfonietta Cracovia joins in the celebration of the jubilee, embarking on an ambitious tournée across Spain and Portugal. The programme for the tour proposed by Sinfonietta Cracovia and conducted by Katarzyna Tomala-Jedynak is a monographic with some of the most relevant works of Krzysztof Penderecki for string orchestra. The ​‘Penderecki 90’ tour includes four concerts in Alicante, Bilbao, Madrid and Porto, between 12 and 16 November 2023.

The Penderecki 90 concert tour is co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within the programme for the Promotion of Polish Culture Abroad. Concerts in Madrid, Bilbao and Alicante are moreover co-financed by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the celebration of the 90th birthday of Krzysztof Penderecki.
