Santtu-Matias Rouvali conducts his first concerts as Artist in Residence at the Musikverein Wien with Wiener Symphoniker on 28 and 29 October 2023. The programme opens with Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien, followed by Shostakovich’s Violin concerto with Leonidas Kavakos. In the second half, Rouvali conducts Sibelius’ Symphony No.3. He returns to the hall two further times this season with his own orchestras: London Philharmonia and Gothenburg Symphony, joined by Rudolf Buchbinder and Arabella Steinbacher respectively.
