13/10/2023
This autumn, Tabita Berglund makes two German orchestral debuts, conducting Düsseldorfer Symphoniker and Dresdner Philharmonie respectively.
Berglund joins Düsseldorfer Symphoniker for three concerts on 20, 22, and 23 October at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. The programme includes Suite No.1 from Grieg’s Peer Gynt, Sibelius’ Symphony No.2, and Bruch’s Concerto for Violin No.1 where Berglund is joined by violinist Johan Dalene. The 23 October performance also includes a new piece, Circulation, by composer Somei Satoh. Satoh has written the piece for the orchestra’s ‘Green Monday’ series which highlights sustainability in the concert experience.
Berglund then conducts Dresdner Philharmonie in three performances on 3 and 5 November. The performances include Sibelius’ Symphony No.2, and the evening performance on 3 November will also include Hildur Guðnadóttir’s For Petra from the film Tár. The morning performances, in which Berglund is joined by moderator Malte Arkona, are aimed towards families, and the evening performance on 3 November is part of the orchestra’s ‘short&casual’ series.
