3/10/2023
Klaus Mäkelä and Oslo Philharmonic embark on a major tour of Asia this month taking with them scores by three composers they have very much made their own. Sibelius, Shostakovich and Richard Strauss have all featured regularly on their programmes in Europe bringing the orchestra great acclaim. Now with three-weeks of concerts throughout Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, where they are joined by soloists Nobuyuki Tsujii (piano) and Janine Jansen (violin), audiences across Asia will be introduced to their team work for the first time. A team work which The Guardian described at last year’s BBC Proms as “superb in its commitment, panache and details … Stunning.”
