Stephanie Childress has been featured by Musical America as new artist of the month and shares her thoughts on music and her relationship with musicians in an interview with Thomas May. In a conversation about her musical upbringing, she looks back at memories of musical epiphanies from her childhood and reflects on the qualities of opera and its present and future place in society. 

From 2020 – 23, she held the position as Assistant Conductor of the St Louis Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the St Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Childress continues to develop her presence across North America through the 2023/24 season including a new production for Detroit Opera in the spring and concerts with Detroit Symphony Orchestra, National Arts Center Ottawa, The Cleveland Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony and Sarasota Music Festival.
