London Philharmonic Orchestra perform Mighty Mahler at Ghent Festival
9/8/2023
London Philharmonic Orchestra open the Ghent Festival of Flanders on 18 September at St. Bavo’s Cathedral.
Under the baton of Chief Conductor Edward Gardner, the orchestra journeys across the Channel for a performance of Mahler’s mighty Symphony No.5, one of Mahler’s most beloved symphonies, and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s Overture ‘The Hebrides’, inspired by his visit to Fingal’s Cave off Scotland’s west coast, capturing the sound of the waves crashing into rocks and lapping against each other.
