HarrisonParrott Foundation Manager, Lissy Kelleher-Clarke, and the HP Foundation Volunteers worked with Awards for Young Musicians to host an online workshop about career pathways and access to the music industry.
Four of the HP Foundation volunteers — Alice Jones, Katya Walker-Arnott, Theodor Küng and Lucie Rivet — talked about their journeys into the industry and what had led them to this point in their career. They advised young musicians to cultivate their hobbies and to explore new (and perhaps unexpected!) possibilities.
Their collective experiences and the choices they made along the way emphasise the fact that there are many different ways to become part of the music ecosystem: it is for everyone and it needs numerous skills to thrive. Hundreds of jobs exist to create, perform, promote and serve music.
