9/5/2023
Riccardo Minasi, Hannu Lintu and Jörg Widmann make their conducting debuts in Berliner Philharmoniker’s recently announced 2023/24 season.
Riccardo Minasi conducts an all-Mozart programme, joined by Noah Bendix-Balgley and Thomas Timm on the violin for Mozart’s Concertone in C major for Two Violins and Orchestra. Elsewhere in the programme, Minasi presents the Overture from Mozart’s Opera Così fan tutte, Symphony No.35, Haffner and Symphony No.40. Audiences in the Berlin area will have three opportunities to see Minasi in concert, on 26, 27 and 28 October in the main auditorium of the Philharmonie Berlin.
In April 2024, Hannu Lintu makes his debut in a fascinating programme of Messiaen, Stravinsky, Saariaho and Sibelius. The concerts are 11, 12 and 13 April.
As well as making his conductor debut, Jörg Widmann also takes on the role as the orchestra’s new Composer in Residence. A highlight of his residency will be the première of his new horn concerto with soloist Stefan Dohr under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle.
