Francesco Piemontesi in Residence at Dresdner Philharmonie

Artist in Residence at Dresdner Philharmonie this season, Francesco Piemontesi performs Mozart‘s Concerto for Piano No.20, a pure Mozart evening together with Jérémie Rhorer. The programme also includes the Overture from Don Giovanni and the Symphony No.41 (Jupiter). Having begun his residency with a recital including works by Schubert, Debussy and Lachenmann in September 2022, Piemontesi continues revealing all mesmerizing facets of his artistry further ahead in appearances in Dresden and Katowice performing Strauss’ Burleske for Piano and Orchestra under the baton of Marek Janowski. He then travels to Pittsburgh to perform Brahms’ Concerto for Piano No.1 with Elim Chan and give a special performance as part of the orchestra’s PSO 360 series to include solo, duo and chamber orchestra works in an intimate concert with the audience encircling the performers on the Heinz Hall stage.
Highlights of previous seasons have included Piemontesi’s debut with Berliner Philharmoniker. He appears alongside the world’s leading orchestras such as Los Angeles Philharmonic and NHK Symphony Orchestras, and is regular guest at festivals such as the Salzburg, Lucerne, Schleswig-Holstein Musk festivals, as well as the BBC Proms.
