On 28 January, Chinese bass-baritone Shenyang, accompanied by historian Michael Wood and pianist Simon Lepper, will present a special recital of Tang Dynasty poetry settings for Chinese New Year at Wigmore Hall. With songs in Mandarin, German, Swedish and English, Shenyang presents his programme as a ​‘theme and variations’, telling the story of original Tang Dynasty poetry and its journey through different cultures.
