István Várdai plays two concerts in Schloss Elmau, as part of Verbier Festival, performing a programme of Kodály, De Falla, Fauré alongside violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky and pianist Bruce Liu on 1 December. This concert is then followed by Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio alongside violinist Josef Špacek and pianist Alexandre Kantorow on 2 December. Tchaikovsky dedicated this piece to his close friend and mentor ​‘A la mémoire d’un grand artist’ (‘To the memory of a great artist’).
