Jean Rondeau and Marin Alsop at the Wiener Konzerthaus
17/10/2022
Critically acclaimed harpsichordist Jean Rondeau takes to the stage of the Wiener Konzerthaus alongside Marin Alsop and the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien on 22 October, performing Francis Poulenc’s Concert Champêtre for Harpsichord and Orchestra in the first of three concerts forming a dedicated ‘artist portrait’. Lauded in the press as “a prominent figure of the nouvelle vague of harpsichordists” (BBC Music Magazine), “a prodigy” (Toute la Culture) and “a wizard” (Gramophone), Jean Rondeau is the first early music artist to whom the Wiener Konzerthaus has ever dedicated such a portrait, with two more concerts scheduled for early 2023.
