Nicolas Altstaedt on tour with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra

Nicolas Altstaedt joins Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra for an international tour, including South Korea, Austria, The Netherlands and UK under the baton of Music Director Osmo Vänskä. They are also joined by pianist Sunwook Kim. The programme includes Walton’s Cello Concerto, Schumann’s Cello Concerto, as well as Sibelius’ Symphony No.1 and an Asian premiere of Danghoon Shin Kafka’s Dream.
Concerts with Nicolas Altstaedt take place in Seoul on 11 October at Lotte Concert Hall and 12 October at Soongsil University; they then travel to Austria to perform three concerts at Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg from 19 — 21 October, and then head to Vienna’s Musikverein on 25 October.
The orchestra and Osmo Vänskä will also perform in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and London’s Cadogan Hall for concerts with pianist Sunwook Kim on 23 and 27 October. Further works are to include Unsuk Chin’s Frontispiece for orchestra, Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto, and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite.
