Brenda Rae sings the Queen of the Night in Lydia Steier’s new production of Die Zauberflöte, conducted by Joana Mallwitz. Inspiration is taken from the libretto to create a fantastical world complete with spectacular stage effects, opening on 30 July.

Brenda returned to the Queen of the Night most recently to make her debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, of which critics commented: ​“With a hotline to wrath and vengeance, Brenda Rae’s Queen of the Night was excellent in her first aria and then swept all before in her in a stupendous ​‘Der Hölle Rache’” (Classical Source, September 2021). Brenda reprises the role again next season for the Wiener Staatsoper.
