Alina Pogostkina returns to Finland and Heidelberg
22/3/2022
This week, Alina Pogostkina travels to Finland for a very special all-Schubert project with the Tapiola Sinfonietta and Mario Venzago on 24 March at Espoo Cultural Centre, performing the composer’s Konzertstück D 345, Rondo in A Major D 438 and Polonaise in B flat Major, D 580. Originally composed for violin and piano, these arrangements for violin and orchestra are still rarities on the concert stage.
After Finland, Pogostkina then travels to Heidelberg as featured artist on the opening weekend of the Heidelberger Frühling, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. For this festive occasion, she will perform an equally celebratory play-direct Mozart programme partnered by the Camerata RCO at the Aula der Neuen Universität Heidelberg on 27 March, performing the composer’s second and fifth violin concertos.
