Mari Eriksmoen is Mélisande in Seville
18/3/2022
Soprano Mari Eriksmoen makes her company debut at Teatro de la Maestranza as Mélisande in Willy Decker’s production of Pelléas et Mélisande, conducted by Michel Plasson with performances on 22, 24 and 26 March.
Eriksmoen received widespread acclaim for her debut in the role in the intense new staging by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Damien Jalet and Marina Abramović for Opera Vlaanderen, followed by further performances at Grand Théâtre de Genève and Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg. Hailed for her faultless French diction and crystalline voice, “she embodies the hypnotizing fragility of this heroine to perfection.” (Forum Opéra)
Mari takes on a new operatic heroine in June, singing Gerda in a concert performance of Abrahamsen’s The Snow Queen at Concertgebouw under Kent Nagano.
