Lionel Bringuier makes debuts with both the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Deutsches Symphone Orchester Berlin, following his long-awaited return to the Janacek Philharmonic. 

Bringuier begins this month’s series of performances with the Janacek Philharmonic, joined by violinist Alena Baeva. He conducts Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor, Dutilleux’s Métaboles, and Tchaikovsky’s Francesca da Rimini on 10 February in Ostrava before travelling to Bielsko-Biała to perform the Sibelius and Tchaikovsky on 11 February.

Bringuier then travels to Berlin to conduct the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester through a programme of Dutilleux, Ravel, Kodaly and Stravinsky, featuring pianist Lisa de la Salle. This performance takes place on 24 February and is broadcast the following day on Deutschlandfunk Kultur.
