Allison Cook gives the first concert performances of Benet Casablancas’ L’Enigma di Lea

Allison Cook returns to Barcelona to reprise Benet Casablancas’ critically acclaimed L’Enigma di Lea in its World Premiere concert performances with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra at L’Auditori on 29 and 30 January. The piece was originally premiered at Gran Teatre del Liceu in 2019 under Josep Pons to universal acclaim and released recently on DVD and Blu-ray by Naxos: “Mezzo soprano Allison Cook excelled in the demanding role of Lea both in the dramatic aspect as well as in her ease of projection and employing a timbre endowed with an ethereal quality’ (La Platea). The original work has been tailored into a suite for soprano and orchestra for its first concert performances, with Lina González-Granados conducting.
