Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo conducts the BBC SO’s season opening concert at Barbican Hall on 2 October. Under his baton the orchestra performs the UK premiere of Betsy Jolas’, Letters from Bachville, a homage to Bach’s hometown Leipzig, as well as Ruth Gipps’ Horn Concerto with Ben Goldscheider as soloist. The concert culminates with Brahms’ Symphony No 2. It will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
