Young mezzo-soprano Hongni Wu opens the 2021/22 season on the concert platform: in Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde with Long Yu and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra on 17 September; followed by her debut in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem alongside bass-baritone Shenyang, Yang Yang and Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra on 26 September. These come after a string of concerts over the summer including Das Lied von der Erde as part of Shanghai’s MISA Festival, and Tan Dun’s Buddha Passion conducted by the composer himself.
