A recent graduate of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden’s Jette Parker Young Artists Programme and a 2018 winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, young Chinese mezzo-soprano Hongni Wu has an active repertoire of roles by Rossini, Mozart, Strauss and Handel. Praised for her ​“warm colourings, ample sound and youthful bloom” by the New York Times, Hongni Wu returns to Covent Garden in the current season in Gounod’s Faust, and looks ahead to further international debuts in future seasons.
