On 16 June, Maxime Pascal conducts the Orchestra Teatro de Petruzzelli di Bari in an all-Francesconi programme, with soloists Anssi Karttunen and Giampaolo Pretto. The concert is one of an eight-part series curated by the theatre, exploring the works and ideas of contemporary Italian composers.
On 18 June, Maxime Pascal conducts Patricia Kopatchinskaja and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France in Luca Francesconi’s new concerto for violin, which was premiered last month in Portugal. The work is co-commissioned by Bamberg Symphoniker Stiftung, Casa da Música, Orchestre Philahrmonique de Radio France, Orquesta Simfonica de Barcelona, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and LA Philharmonic Orchestra in coproduction with IRCAM-Centre Pompidou.
The concert also features Fausto Romitelli’s Dead City Radio and Ligeti’s work for organ Volumina.
