MAXIME PASCAL CONDUCTS IN TOKYO AND NAGOYA
18/11/2020
Maxime Pascal is one of the first international artists to be invited to Japan since the outbreak of the coronavirus almost a year ago. After successful visits in 2017 and 2019, Maxime returns to Japan to conduct in Tokyo and Nagoya.
On 4 December he conducts Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra with soloist Kyohei Sorita in a programme of Ravel, Debussy, and Misato Mochizuki. The concert marks the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
The following week Maxime travels to Nagoya for concerts on 11 and 12 December with Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra. Soloist Ayana Tsuji performs Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto No 2, between French composers Chabrier and Ravel. Beethoven’s Symphony No.8 completes the concert.
