SAKARI ORAMO CONDUCTS THE RSPO IN TWO VIRTUAL CONCERTS IN MARCH

Sakari Oramo conducts the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in two virtual concerts which are available to be streamed now, on demand, on the orchestra’s website.
On 18 March, together with Swedish soprano Johanna Wallroth, Oramo and the RSPO perform live Samuel Barber’s atmospheric Knoxville: Summer of 1915 and an aria from Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress.
Also in the programme is the world premiere of Outi Tarkiainen’s orchestral piece The Ring of Fire and Love and Dvorák’s Seventh Symphony.

On 25 March, in an all Ravel programme, Oramo leads the orchestra in a live streamed concert and is joined by pianist Bertrand Chamayou who performs Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major.
This concert is part of the ongoing project to record Ravel’s orchestral pieces, for release on the record label BIS and is available on demand here on the orchestra’s website.
