Hannu Lintu to begin tenure as Chief Conductor of Finnish National Opera early
28/1/2021
Hannu Lintu will begin his tenure as Chief Conductor of Finnish National Opera earlier than planned and will take up the mantle in August 2021 instead of January 2022. The announcement comes as Finnish National Opera is forced to cancel all performances until the end of February – deferring its long awaited continuation of the Ring Cycle until audiences can return safely. Lintu will conduct Die Walkure in August 2022 with remaining productions of Siegfried and Gotterdamerung postponed from 2021.
Further information about Lintu’s activities in the house will follow in due course.
