Pekka Kuusisto takes up the baton for his conducting debut with the Philharmonia, with whom he has previously performed as a violinist on numerous occasions. The all-Beethoven programme consists of Symphony No. 2 and the Violin Concerto with Nicola Benedetti as soloist. The concert will be live-streamed from Royal Festival Hall on 30 November 19:30 GMT (UK and worldwide) and delayed broadcast on Classic FM Radio.

Kuusisto makes his first appearance with the London Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Anders Hillborg’s Bach Materia, a work for violin solo and string orchestra written specially for Kuusisto. The concert, conducted by Thomas Søndergård, will be filmed at the Royal Festival Hall for broadcast on MarqueeTV from 2 December 20:00 GMT.
