On 1 October Patricia Kopatchinskaja joins Ensemble Resonanz, Balthasar Neumann Choir and her own specially-chosen musicians for a unique production of DIES IRAE, co-produced with HP Touring. Two performances at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie feature Patricia’s interpretation and response to the climate crisis, with music from Giacinto Scelsi, John Dowland, George Crumb, and centred around Ustwolskaja’s Dies Irae, written for eight double basses, wood block and piano.
