MARTIN FRÖST CONDUCTS THE HAMBURG SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
21/9/2020
On 27 September Martin Fröst returns to Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle to conduct the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra for the first time. The imaginative programme includes operatic excerpts by Jean-Philippe Rameau, a performance of Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto for Clarinet No.1 with Fröst taking the solo part and Symphony No.4 Italian by Felix Mendelssohn. Béla Bartók’s Romanian Dances in a version for clarinet and string orchestra complete the repertoire.
Earlier this month, Fröst opened the 2020/21 season at Örebro Concert Hall with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, for whom he has been Chief Conductor since 2019. Further highlights this autumn include engagements with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester and Rotterdam Philharmonic.
