Peter Eötvös conducts in Brussels and Brugge
27/9/2019
On the 4 October, Peter Eötvös returns to Belgium to conduct two remarkable operas in concert with Brussels Philharmonic. Repertoire includes his own Senza Sangue and Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle. A perfect companion for Bartok’s masterpiece, Senza Sangue has been premiered in its concert version by New Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Alan Gilbert in 2015.
In recent years the opera has been staged and performed all over Europe, including the critically acclaimed production at the Hamburg State Opera directed by Dmiti Tcherniakov and conducted by Peter Eötvös. The upcoming performances at Flagey and Concertgebouw in Brugge will be featuring Viktoria Vizin (soprano), Jordan Shanahan (baritone) and Gábor Bretz (baritone) in title roles.
