Peter Eötvös conducts Berliner Philharmoniker and Ensemble Musikfabrik at Musikfest Berlin

On 7 and 8 Sep, Peter Eötvös returns to Berliner Philharmoniker to conduct an emblematic programme featuring his newest violin concerto Alhambra, Xenakis’s Shaar and the iconic Amériques by Edgard Varèse in 1922 version. Eötvös’s Alhambra, performed by Isabelle Faust, has been recently [world-]premiered at Granada Festival and also received critically acclaimed UK first performance at the BBC Proms. Following its German premiere, this September Alhambra will be also performed in Paris by Orchestre de Paris under Pablo Heras-Casado. Prior to the evening concert on 8 Sep, Peter Eötvös appears in the Kammermusiksaal of the Philharmonie with Ensemble Musikfabrik. This programme will be featuring German premiere of Eötvös’s melodrama Secret Kiss, as well as music my Helmut Lachenmann and Toshio Hosokawa.
