Susanna Mälkki joins the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks on part of their European tour this summer.

Stepping in for Chief Conductor Mariss Jansons, Mälkki appears with the Orchestra at Riga’s Latvian Opera House (as part of the Riga Jurmala Music Festival) on 19 and 21 July, conducting Sibelius, Prokofiev, R. Strauss, Brahms and Beethoven, with soloists Julian Rachlin and Rudolf Buchbinder. On 27 July she and the Orchestra travel to Lübeck for a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No.2 and Shostakovich’s Symphony No.5.
