On 22 June, Josep Pons conducts not only one but five different orchestras in five concerts on the same day. The Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical has partnered with the Auditorio Nacional de Música together to celebrate the Music Day alongside the arrival of the summer solstice. The musical marathon runs a Russian theme with works by Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky. Pons starts off the musical marathon with conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid at 11:00, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid at 13:00, Orquesta Sinfónica RTVE at 17:00, Orquesta Nacional de España at 19:30 and finally Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE) at 22:30. All the performances take place at Auditorio Nacional de Música.

Pons then continues a national tour with the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España around Spain. Last but not least, Pons concludes the 2018/19 season in South America by conducting the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo in late August. Programme includes works by Beethoven, Falla, Ravel.
