The Charlotte Symphony in North Carolina have extended Christopher Warren-Green’s contract for a fourth term taking him to 2022. Under his baton the Orchestra has continued to develop artistically since his tenure began in 2010. Forthcoming highlights in Charlotte include performances of Mahler’s monumental Symphony No.1 and Mozart’s Requiem. Warren-Green’s 2019/20 season in Charlotte has just been announced strongly featuring Beethoven during the 250th Celebrations of his birth and Russian music too is prominent. 

Back in Europe he continues with the London Chamber Orchestra where he has been Music Director since 1988. Warren-Green said:

“I am delighted to extend my contact as Music Director of the Charlotte Symphony until 2022 and look forward to completing the journey we began in 2010. I am extremely proud of the orchestra, most noticeably, the performances of Mahler Symphonies and our outreach and education activities.”
