A respected advocate for lesser known works, Sol Gabetta tours Germany and Austria with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, with whom she enjoys a long association, illuminating Weinberg’s Cello Concerto under the direction of Mikko Franck in December 2018. In light of the upcoming 100th birthday anniversary of Miecysław Weinberg — one of the most significant rediscoveries of the last few decades — the tour sees Gabetta premiere the concerto at Wiener Konzerthaus (16 Dec) along with performances at Kölner Philharmonie (13 Dec), Tonhalle Düsseldorf (14 Dec), Hamburg Elbphilharmonie (15 Dec), Philharmonie am Gasteig, Munich (19 Dec), Kuppelsaal Hannover (20 Dec) and Auditorium de Radio France (21 Dec). As part of this tour, Sol Gabetta also presents Elgar’s Cello Concerto at Philharmonie Berlin (18 Dec).
