This week sees Daniel Blendulf debut with Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. Blendulf is joined by Artist in Residence Janine Jansen to conduct a series of two concerts on 15 and 16 December in the magnificent Tonhalle Hall. With a Russian theme running through the programme, Blendulf conducts one of Prokofiev’s most popular symphonies, No. 5, Glinka’s Overture from his opera, Ruslan and Ludmila, and the duo honours the Swedish composer Eliasson by performing his Violin Concerto, Einsame Fahrt, which translates as A Solitary Journey.
