Ain Anger returns to Paris as Pimen
1/6/2018
This week, Ain Anger returns to Opéra National de Paris as Pimen in Ivo van Hove’s new production of Boris Godunov. Conducted by Vladimir Jurowski, performances run from 7 June to 12 July at Opéra Bastille.
Pimen is a role that has taken Ain Anger to Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, the BBC Proms and that served as his debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden under Sir Antonio Pappano, but he also recently debuted as Boris Godunov himself at Deutsche Oper Berlin to great critical acclaim. He rounds off his 2017/18 season at the Münchner Opernfestspiele in Wagner’s Ring Cycle under Kirill Petrenko and launches 2018/19 as part of Keith Warner’s Ring Cycle at Covent Garden, again under Pappano’s guidance.
