Ain Anger makes a welcome return this week to The Cleveland Orchestra in his debut performances as König Marke in Tristan und Isolde. Conducted by Music Director Franz Welser-Möst, the semi-staged concerts take place on 21, 26 and 29 April.
Adding to an already extensive Wagnerian repertoire, Ain also recently debuted the role of Hagen (Götterdämmerung) in Toronto and Berlin. Forthcoming engagements include Ring Cycles for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden under Sir Antonio Pappano, Bayerische Staatsoper under Kirill Petrenko, and Teatro Real under Pablo Heras-Casado, as well as a return to Opéra national de Paris as Pimen (Boris Godunov) in Ivo van Hove’s new production under Vladimir Jurowski.
