Rising star Alexey Stadler performs at the Heidelberg Spring Festival on 6 April. He is soloist, along with Ning Feng and Igor Levit, in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto; the Irish Chamber Orchestra is conducted by their Principal Guest Conductor Jörg Widmann.

Earlier in the Festival, Stadler appeared in recital with pianist Lukáš Vondráček, in a programme which included Rachmaninov’s Cello Sonata.

A young artist who has been causing considerable excitement amongst orchestras, promoters and audiences this season, in December 2013 Stadler gave acclaimed performances of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No.1 with the Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev in St Petersburg and Brussels.
