Alexey Stadler steps in to make his debut at the BBC Proms
25/8/2017
Alexey Stadler makes his debut at the BBC Proms tonight, performing Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No.1 with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Vasily Petrenko. He steps in at short notice to replace Truls Mørk who is unable to play due to illness.
This performance follows Alexey’s successful US debut in June, when he performed the same concerto at three concerts with the San Francisco Symphony under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy leading The San Francisco Chronicle to say “Stadler’s rendition of the music hit with the force of a revelation”.
